As England prepare for their first game of 2016 against Germany, former England internationals, Sir Trevor Brooking and Matt Le Tissier, were on hand at Wembley to watch the next generation being put through their paces at the launch of a new partnership between the Football Association and Lidl, which will help grow the game and provide over a million opportunities for children across the country to receive professional coaching.

Last year, Lidl announced a partnership with the Football Association and are now rolling out a series of informal, fun and interactive football coaching opportunities, giving hundreds of thousands of children the chance to take part in grassroots football ahead of Euro 2016.

Their partnership with the Football Association is aiming to increase football participation across the country and will be providing a platform to communicate the benefits of football to mums and their children.

These informal coaching opportunities will be used to drive registrations for the local Lidl FA Skills Programme – as the official partner of the FA Skills Programme Lidl will aim to provide a minimum of 1.2 million opportunities for children aged 5-11 to take part and receive professional coaching through the FA.
