Southampton have reportedly launched a €30 million offer for Lille forward Sofiane Boufal, according to Le 360 Sport.
The bid, which is worth more than £25 million, would be a club-record for the south coast outfit as they look for a replacement for Sadio Mane, after the Senegal international moved to Premier League rivals Liverpool for £34 million last month.
Boufal, who scored 12 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for Lille last term, as well as providing four assists, will be familiar to new Saints boss Claude Puel, who managed Ligue 1 outfit Nice for the previous four seasons in France.
Southampton have Europa League group stage football to look forward to after an impressive sixth-placed finish in the English top flight, but could face competition in their bid to sign the highly-rated 22-year-old, with Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona among the clubs also linked with a move for the attacking midfielder.
