Southampton are reportedly eager to re-sign England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the close of the transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who currently sit eighth in the standings, would like to sign the Arsenal on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The 22-year-old, who has 22 international caps for the Three Lions, has scored just one goal in 29 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who left St Mary’s for the Emirates back in 2011 for a reported fee of £12m, could be offered more first-team opportunities with Ronald Koeman’s Saints ahead of this summer’s UEFA European Championships as the winger has only started seven Premier League games this term.
