Name: Fraser Forster
Position: Goalkeeper
Boy oh boy how the Saints missed Fraser Forster during his patella tendon rupture injury lay-off! But despite playing just a handful of games so far this term, the towering goalkeeper is still Southampton’s 2016 BRIT Awards winner.
The 27-year-old, who has three international caps and could be selected in Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions squad to take to the 2016 UEFA European Championships this summer in France, has kept a remarkable six clean sheets in six Premier League appearances for the Saints this season.
Forster, who arrived at St Mary’s Stadium from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in a deal worth a reported £10m back in August 2014, has returned from injury in blistering form by not conceding a single league goal in over 540 minutes of play.
The 6ft 7in shot stopper, who started his career at fellow English top-flight outfit Newcastle United, has inspired his teammates to pick up an impressive 16 points from a possible 18 available during his six-game spell, including superb victories over Manchester United and West Ham United.
