Southampton forward, Jay Rodriguez is a target for a number of Premier League sides this summer according to the Daily Echo, and the Saints are willing to allow their man to leave on a loan deal in order to build up game time.
However, the club want to ensure that they have a replacement on the way in before any deal for the 27-year-old is finalised, as their striking ranks are getting rather thin.
As per the Echo’s report, West Brom looks the most likely destination for the former Burnley man as he seeks to re-discover the form that earned him a spot in the England side before he ruptured his Cruciate Ligament ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Rio.
The Saints are in need of a striker having lost Saido Mane and Graziano Pelle earlier in the window and have been linked with a move for want-a-way Sporting Lisbon forward, Islam Slimani.
Rodriguez is reportedly still considered as part of Claude Puel’s long-term plans on the South Coast, and the loan move is just an opportunity for him to earn more consistent first team game time.
