Gareth Southgate is set to be appointed England manager on Wednesday, according to Sky Sports.
The 46-year-old, who won 57 international caps for the Three Lions during his playing career as a defender, is expected to be officially named national team coach when The Football Association board meet at St George’s Park tomorrow.

Southgate, who has also managed Premier League side Middlesbrough, was interviewed by The FA by a five-man panel last week following his interim spell in charge of England.
The report adds that the former Boro player and boss would only consider accepting a contract from The FA that runs until the end of Euro 2020.
Earlier reports, including the guardian‘s, suggested The FA were ready to hand Southgate a permanent four-year deal after leading England to the top of their 2018 World Cup qualifying group, having picked up 10 points from a possible 12 on offer.
Furthermore, he would be offered an annual salary of £1.5m, a figure significantly lower than the likes of his predecessors, as Roy Hodgson was on £3.5m-a-year, whilst Sam Allardyce was expected to take home £3m-a-year.
