Sporting Lisbon to demand £23m for Everton’s 22-goal target

Everton have been linked with a £23m summer move for Algeria international forward Islam Slimani, according to O Jogo (via the Liverpool Echo).

The Premier League club, who threw away a two-goal lead during Saturday’s devastating 3-2 defeat to West Ham United at Goodison Park, are interested in signing the Sporting Lisbon striker come the end of the 2015-16 campaign following his impressive displays this term.

The 27-year-old, who has 41 international caps for his country, has scored an impressive 22 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese Liga NOS outfit so far this season, including four assists.

Slimani; who was the subject of interest from the Toffees during the previous January transfer window, although no transfer eventually materialised, is valued at around £23m by Lisbon.

The Algerian hotshot has found the back of the net 47 times in 100 games for the Portuguese giants since arriving at the club from CR Belouizdad back in August 2013.
