Tottenham Hotspur closed the gap to the Premier League’s top four to just three points courtesy of a narrow win over Fulham on Monday evening.
Antonio Conte’s side picked up three points thanks to a first-half goal from Harry Kane, a strike that moved the England captain level with Jimmy Greaves at the top of the club’s all-time goalscoring charts.
Tottenham’s next match sees them travel north to face Championship side Preston North End in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, but in the meantime The Lilywhites have been handed a huge boost.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have agreed a deal to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan.
The news may come as a surprise as it was reported on Monday that the player had passed a medical ahead of a proposed move to fellow Premier League side Everton.
Despite this, the player is now set to move to north London rather than Merseyside.
Danjuma, 25, has been in good form for Villarreal over the past two seasons, particularly during last term’s Champions League campaign.
In 11 matches in the competition, the Dutchman scored six goals and registered an assist, earning his place in the Team of the Tournament.

So far this season, Danjuma has scored six goals in 17 games across all competitions.
The Toffees, who sacked manager Frank Lampard on Monday, were expected to complete a deal for the winger, but Romano claims that Spurs have now successfully hijacked the deal.
The player is said to be on his way to London to undergo a medical with Spurs; his second in the space of 48 hours.
Danjuma has previously played in the Premier League, during a two-year spell with Bournemouth.
He scored 17 goals in 52 appearances for The Cherries, as well as providing eight assists.
The player is expected to join Spurs on loan for the remainder of the current season, although it is unclear as to whether or not the agreement will include an option-to-buy clause.
