Tottenham Hotspur will hope to continue their strong start to the new Premier League season when they host Bournemouth on Saturday.

Thomas Frank has enjoyed a fine start to life in North London, with his side having beaten both Burnley and Manchester City in their two league games so far.

Spurs sit second in the top flight table at present, and Frank will expect to see his side continue their strong start when they host the Cherries.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the Lilywhites are hopeful of beating one of their fiercest rivals to the signing of a Bundesliga star.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Tottenham are confident about their chances of beating rivals Chelsea to the signing of RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.

The report claims that Spurs are pushing ahead in their pursuit of the Dutchman, who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for several weeks now.

Simons himself is said to be keen on the idea of a move to Chelsea, however the report claims that Spurs are hoping to hijack their rivals’ move for the player.

Having initially joined Leipzig on loan from French side Paris Saint-Germain back in 2023, the attacker made the switch permanent in January.

He has scored 22 goals and provided 24 assists in 78 games for the German side across all competitions, but it appears increasingly likely that he could be on his way to London before the end of the transfer window, with both Spurs and Chelsea interested.

It is claimed that Chelsea have struggled to reach an agreement with Leipzig for the player, despite his desire to join the Blues.

Spurs, meanwhile, are willing to meet Leipzig’s £60 million valuation of the Netherlands international, who can play in a number of attacking roles including as an attacking midfielder or on either flank.
