Tottenham Hotspur boss Igor Tudor will bid to record his first win since taking charge of the club when they host London rivals Crystal Palace on Thursday evening.
The Croat has so far overseen defeats against Arsenal and Fulham in his first two matches in charge, having been appointed as the Lilywhites’ boss until the end of the season following the dismissal of Thomas Frank last month.
Tudor will hope to see his side improve against the Eagles on Thursday, although Oliver Glasner’s side have also shown some imrpovement in recent weeks after a dismal spell either side of the festive period.
This summer could therefore be one of significant change at Spurs, and it is now emerging that those in charge of the club are eyeing a replacement for one of their most important players.
As per CaughtOffside, Tottenham have identified RC Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser as one of their top targets as they finalise their plans for the goalkeeping department over the coming years.
Spurs’ current first choice ‘keeper, Guglielmo Vicario, has struggled for consistency since joining the club from Empoli in 2023, and it now appears that the Lilywhites are on the hunt for a new ‘keeper.
It is not yet clear whether Spurs are eyeing a move to sign Risser as a replacement for Vicario, or as an option to bolster their squad and add competition for places in a crucial part of the pitch.
Risser, 21, joined Lens from fellow Ligue 1 side Strasbourg last summer and is enjoying a superb debut season at the club.
The young ‘keeper has kept nine clean sheets in 24 Ligue matches so far this term, helping Pierre Sage’s side climb as high as second in the French top flight table.
Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are also said to be interested in the Frenchman, who is contracted to his current club until 2030 but, according to the report, is only valued at around £8 million.
