Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham left it very late to beat Swansea 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium, in turning keeping their slim Premier League title chances alive.
Spurs looked set to suffer just a fourth league defeat of the season when Wayne Routledge’s first half strike went unanswered until the final stages, only for Dele Alli to tap home two minutes from time to instigate a stunning comeback.
Son Heung-min then gave the visitors the lead in the first minute of added time after great work from Vincent Janssen, before Christian Eriksen added some gloss to the scoreline with his seventh goal of the season three minutes later.
It means that Pochettino’s men remain seven points behind leaders Chelsea after they beat Manchester City 2-1 on Wednesday night, but it could have been very different for the North London outfit if they hadn’t have produced a stellar comeback in South Wales.
And one man many Spurs fans want to credit with the response is striker Janssen, who has had a tricky time of it at White Hart Lane since moving there last summer, but certainly proved his worth to the side with an inspired cameo at the Liberty Stadium yesterday.
Thus, many Tottenham supporters took to Twitter to marvel in the Dutchman’s game-changing display last night…
Made a massive difference Vinny! Absolute quality for Sonny's goal
