Tottenham Hotspur may have to sacrifice defender Federico Fazio in order to land Lyon forward Clinton N’Jie.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye since making his debut for the French club in 2012 and has since scored eight times in 36 Ligue 1 appearances.

Mauricio Pochettino has been trying to bring in some attacking players this summer but has so far found the market difficult with all three of his signings being defenders.

Spurs’ boss has hit some problems with this proposed €12m deal for the Cameroon international as Lyon will only sell if they get the cash plus centre back Federico Fazio.

The Argentine, 28, failed to convince fans that he was designed for the Premier League in his debut season in charge.

But Pochettino may have other ideas having only signed his fellow countryman from Sevilla 12 months ago.
