Tottenham Hotspur are interested in making a sensational move for Gareth Bale, according to reports.

As per The Sun, Spurs, along with West Ham United and Newcastle United, are interested in signing the Welshman on a free transfer.

Bale, 32, is available on a free transfer this summer following the expiry of his contract with Real Madrid, and could be in line for a third spell with Spurs.

The Wales international moved to north London in 2007 and spent six seasons with Spurs before departing for the Spanish capital in a deal worth more than £90 million.

Bale won his fifth Champions League medal in May

He struggled to maintain a regular starting spot in Madrid, though, but still enjoyed huge success, winning 19 trophies during his time there, including five Champions League triumphs.

He returned to Spurs on loan for the 2020/21 campaign, and scored 16 goals across all competitions.

The race to land the ex-Southampton man will be closely fought, and Championship side Cardiff City are still considered surprise frontrunners to land the forward.
