New Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola will be working hard to perfect his squad ahead of next season.

The Spaniard was appointed as the Reds’ new head coach earlier this month, following the sacking of Arne Slot.

Having won the Premier League title just over 12 months ago in his first season in charge, Slot had seen his side struggle last term and the Dutchman was dismissed after guiding his side to a fifth-placed finish in the top flight.

Iraola joins Liverpool after departing Bournemouth at the end of last season, having guided the Cherries to sixth place – just one spot behind Liverpool.

Ahead of next term, though, it is emerging that a Liverpool star is on the radar of a Premier League rival.

As per CaughtOffside, Tottenham Hotspur are set to make an offer to sign midfielder Cody Gakpo from Liverpool this summer.

The report suggests that the Lilywhites are preparing an offer worth around £60 million for the Netherlands international, who is currently representing his country at the World Cup in North America.

Gakpo, 27, joined the Reds from PSV Eindhoven in 2023, having impressed at the previous World Cup in Qatar.

Since moving to Merseyside, the Dutchman has scored 50 goals and registered 23 assists in 180 matches across all competitions, including a combined 15 goals and assists last term.

According to the report, Newcastle United and German champions Bayern Munich are also both keeping tabs on the player’s situation.

Bundesliga giants Bayern were linked with a move for Gakpo last year, but ultimately signed his then-Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz instead.

Gakpo has more than four years remaining on his current contract with Liverpool, but it appears increasingly likely that he could be allowed to leave Anfield this summer.
