Stoke City: 3 crucial games in the Potters’ Premier League run-in

Southampton (H) – March 12

A run of three straight 3-0 defeats in the Premier League looked to have dented the Potters’ chase for a European spot, however a win against Bournemouth last time out has put them back in the hunt.

The Saints are also well in contention, and a win against Ronald Koeman’s side at the Britannia Stadium could be key to Mark Hughes’ side’s chances.

Stoke will want captain Ryan Shawcross to be fit for the rest of the season.

Liverpool (A) – April 9

Another one of the teams chasing Manchester United in fifth is Liverpool, and Stoke won’t want to drop points against one of their rivals for a spot in Europe when they make the trip to Anfield.

The Potters have struggled with injuries in defence in recent weeks, and will want a fully-fit squad ahead of their trip to face Jurgen Klopp’s men.

West Ham (H) – May 15

Another one of Stoke’s rivals for a Europa League spot – West Ham – make the trip to the Britannia Stadium on the last day of the season.

Both sides have enjoyed ups-and-downs during the course of the campaign, but if they can both finish strongly, this fixtures could well be a decider.
