Stoke City: One player that could leave the Potters in January

Name: Peter Crouch
Position: Striker

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has fallen out-of-favour under Potters boss Mark Hughes this season.

With Stoke City’s attacking trio of Bojan, Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Arnautovic flourishing this season for the Potters, even fellow forward Peter Crouch himself has admitted he may have to leave the club during the January transfer window to get some minutes under his belt.

Despite helping Mark Hughes’ side reach the fourth-round of the FA Cup last weekend, the 6ft 7’s opening goal at Doncaster Rovers was just his fourth start of the season.

Crouch; who has scored an impressive 22 goals in 42 international caps for England, has failed to start a single Premier League fixture for Stoke this campaign, playing a total of just 45 minutes of top-flight action from four substitute appearances.

The 34-year-old recently admitted, “If I can’t play then maybe I do have to move on.

“I played 33 or 34 Premier League games last season so to have not featured this season has been very frustrating but all I can do is try to take opportunities when I’m given them and try to force my way back in.

“There have been times when it’s been hard. When you’re running on the pitch after games, you’ve been watching but haven’t been part of it.

“You say that you’re part of it, of course, but it doesn’t feel like it at times.”

Championship side Leeds United have been continually linked with a loan move for the England hitman, with Whites boss Steve Evans revealing the club have already had an approach for Crouch turned down by the Potters.

However if Stoke’s rumours of wanting to sign West Brom’s Saido Berahino materialise later this month, that deal would give Crouch the impetus to leave the Britannia Stadium, with Australian A-League side Sydney FC also thought to be interested in his services.
