Stoke City have had an opening £7m bid rejected for Championship defender Michael Keane, according to Metro Sport.
The Premier League side, who held Premier League leaders Arsenal to a goalless draw at the weekend, have failed with an official £5m plus add-ons offer for the Burnley centre-half.
The 23-year-old, who is a former England Under-21 international, has scored three goals in 27 league games for the Clarets this season.
Keane, who left Manchester United for Sean Dyche’s side on a permanent deal last January, has played an integral part in Burnley’s mission to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking this campaign.
