The forward’s future at the Britannia looked uncertain in the closing days of the transfer window, but Walters remains a Stoke player and continues to play a key role for his national side. The 31-year old scored Ireland’s second-half winner as they kept their qualification hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Georgia in Dublin on Monday night, bundling home from close range in the 69th minute. He also played 90 minutes in the 4-0 win in Gibraltar.
