Stoke City are reportedly set to complete the £18.2 million signing of FC Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula, according to the Times.

The Belgium-born star has been a long-term target for the Potters, who wanted to bring the 23-year-old in as a replacement in the summer for Steven N’Zonzi, but the player chose to join the Portuguese giants instead.

However, he has failed to settle at the club, and now looks set to complete a move to the Premier League after a fee of more than £18 million was agreed.

Porto will receive 15 per cent of any future transfer feeder Imbula, who has made 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
