Sunderland striker in talks over shock move to France

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher is reportedly in talks over a shock move to Marseille, according to L’Equipe.

The French giants are keen to bring in an attacker to provide support to Michy Batshuayi before the close of the transfer window on Monday night, and had previously been linked with a move for Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie.

However, L’OM are now thought to have turned their attentions to out-of-favour Black Cats forward Fletcher, whose contract at the Stadium of Light runs out in the summer.

Fletcher has scored 23 goals in 102 appearances for the Mackems since making the move from Wolves in 2012.
