Sunderland’s Premier League Goal of the Season so far

Name: Fabio Borini
Position: Striker
Goal: SUNDERLAND vs Crystal Palace – March 1, 2016

Borini has found the back of the net three times in 19 league appearances for Sunderland this campaign.

Currently two points adrift of survival in the Premier League’s drop zone with only eight fixtures remaining of the 2015-16 season; Sunderland would welcome a few more thunderbolts from striker Fabio Borini between now and the end of the campaign should the Black Cats wish to preserve their top-flight status.

The ex-Chelsea and Liverpool forward earned the hosts what could prove to be a crucial point come May when he lashed home Sunderland’s last-gasp equaliser against Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light earlier this month.

With the score 2-1 to the Eagles in the dying embers of the match; the Italy international took DeAndre Yedlin’s pass down the right flank in his stride before unexpectedly firing a blistering shot across the face of Wayne Hennessey’s goal from what seemed like a near impossible angle.

Despite that being only his third Premier League goal this term, it was certainly his and Sunderland’s best of the season, so far!
