Their Scotland international, Fletcher, scored in the 2-2 draw against West Ham at the Stadium of Light, before winning the penalty that changed the course of the Tyne-Wear derby against arch-rivals, Newcastle.
With Fabricio Coloccini dismissed, the striker scored his side’s third goal in the 3-0 triumph – their sixth successive win against the Toon.
