Swansea City host a Liverpool side fresh from their Europa League semi-final defeat against Villarreal. The Swans will be disappointed by their lacklustre season so far, but they can now prepare for the next campaign with safety in the Premier League all but guaranteed.

Meanwhile Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will have to pick his team up after they painfully conceded in the dying moments of their Europa League semi-final against Villarreal on Thursday night.

Liverpool currently sit seventh in the table, only one point behind West Ham in sixth. After losing against Villarreal, finishing in sixth spot may be their only way to secure European football next season, which makes this game a must win.

They now must turn their attention to a Swansea side who were well beaten against Leicester City last time out. The 4-0 thrashing was Swansea’s tenth away loss of the campaign.

The Swans seemed to have turned a corner when they beat Chelsea three weeks ago, but since then they have conceded seven goals in two games without scoring in reply.

The Anfield club have often struggled in away games this season, but current form suggests they are strong favourites for this one.

Team News:

Swansea City are without midfielder Leroy Fer ahead of this tough fixture with Liverpool. The Dutchman picked up a hamstring injury and has not yet been set a return date.

The Swans will also be without striker Alberto Paloschi, who picked up a hamstring injury last week.

Liverpool striker Divock Origi was victim of an awful challenge during the Merseyside derby last weekend and will have to sit this game out as he begins his recovery.

The visitors are also without central defender Mamadou Sakho, who will miss the rest of the season as he awaits the outcome of a failed drug test.

Boss Klopp is still without club captain Jordan Henderson, who will be concentrating on getting fit again for the start of Euro 2016 this summer.

Whilst Emre Can is also yet to recover from the ankle injury he picked up in Liverpool’s Europa League tie against Dortmund.

Long-term absentees Joe Gomez and Danny Ings continue their recovery for next season.
