Name: Gylfi Sigurdsson
Position: Midfielder
Swansea City’s Premier League status still hangs in the balance with only nine games remaining – despite their impressive 2-1 victory at title contenders Arsenal last week helping them pull nine points clear of the bottom three.
However another result in doubt is the winner of the Swans’ top goalscorer award for the 2015-16 season, with midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and summer signing Andre Ayew the favourites to snatch the gong.
But we predict the cool Icelandic star will prevail the victor given his rich vein of form in front of goal recently.
The 26-year-old, who has 35 international caps for his country and helped Iceland qualify for their first-ever UEFA European Championships this summer in France, is joint-first in the goalscoring charts alongside Ayew with eight league goals so far this campaign.
However Sigurdsson has found the back of the net six times in his last ten league outings, earning Francesco Guidolin’s Welsh outfit crucial victories against Everton and Norwich City in the process.
