Swansea City are reportedly prepared to offload star striker Bafetimbi Gomis for £6.5m next month.

The Premier League club, who sit just two points above the bottom three heading into the New Year, are weighing up selling the France international to Qatari club Lekhwiya during the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Swans from Ligue 1 side Lyon on a free transfer last June, has scored five goals in 18 league appearances so far this season.

It is understood that the Welsh club’s conclusion will be heavily dependent upon the possibility of whether they could sign Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan following his “terrible” first-half spell at fellow top-flight side Crystal Palace.
