These 2 Everton youngsters could be the next Marcus Rashford

It has been little over a year since Marcus Rashford broke onto the scene with Premier League giants Manchester United.

The 19-year-old was named in the United starting eleven on February 25 2016 following Anthony Martial’s injury in the warm-up against Midtjylland in the Europa League, and he took full advantage by netting twice to help Louis van Gaal’s men to a 5-1 success, in turn reaching the last 16 of Europe’s secondary competition.

He didn’t stop there though, as just three days later Rashford was named in the eleven to face Arsenal in the Premier League, and scored twice in just three minutes to inspire the Red Devils to a 3-2 success over Arsene Wenger’s men.

Since then, the teenager hasn’t looked back – he made his debut for England and scored on it against Australia in May last year, before earning a spot in Roy Hodgson’s 23-man squad for the European Championships last summer.

Add in that he scored the winning goal in last year’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium, and it’s been quite the year for Rashford, but where is the next young starlet going to come from?

Well, we took a look at Everton’s pool of young talent, and identified TWO forwards who could be the next Rashford…

Fraser Hornby

It has been quite an impressive season from Scottish star Fraser Hornby.

The 17-year-old has scored 13 goals in just 17 games for the Under-18 side this term, including four in the 5-2 success over Stoke back in October (above), as well as a hat-trick in the thrilling 4-4 draw with Manchester City on November 19.

Hornby has netted in at least every other game since October, which equates to 12 goals in his last 11 appearances for the Toffees.

Clearly, the 17-year-old has got huge potential, and it may well be fulfilled at Everton over the coming years.

Harry Charsley

20-year-old Harry Charsley is another Everton starlet embarking on a fine season.

The Republic of Ireland man has scored 12 goals in just 18 appearances for the Under-23 side this term, including  the key goal in the 1-0 victory over Sunderland, as well as the equaliser at home to Chelsea back in October.

The Under-18 Player of the Year from the 2014/15 campaign has helped the Under-23 side to the top of Premier League 2 Division One with 11 wins from their 15 games, and is well-placed to go on and have a bright future in the game.

Everton fans will be hoping that it’s with them, and that it indeed follows a similar path to that of Rashford.
