These 2 January signings would win Liverpool the Premier League title

It has been an incredible first three months of the season for Liverpool as they embark on their first full season under manager Jurgen Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss took over from the sacked Brendan Rodgers last October and, although he led the Reds to two Cup finals, both of which they lost, there was huge amounts of optimism among Liverpool fans that Klopp could bring the good times back to Anfield.

And, based on their first 11 Premier League games, he could be about to do just that.

His side are top of the league after winning eight of their first 11 games, with a 2-0 defeat at Burnley the only blemish on an otherwise excellent start to the campaign.

Victories over Arsenal, Chelsea, and Leicester have outlined the Reds’ title credentials, and in Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho, and Sadio Mane, they’ve got the most in-form forward line in the division, who have scored a stunning 16 league goals between them already.

Their run to the last eight of the League Cup has also got fans excited at the prospect of silverware for the first time since 2012, but it’s the league that Reds fans want the most.

It has been 26 years since their last First Division title, but here are TWO players who would win Liverpool the league this season if they signed them in January…

Jonathan Tah

Many believe that it is Liverpool’s defence which will let them down in the title race, so manager Klopp is likely looking at potential reinforcements in January.

One man he should keep a very close eye on is Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, who has been tipped to be a star in the future for Germany.

The 20-year-old is already an excellent defender who reads the game well and also likes to play out of defence but, unlike some players who also like the ball at their feet, Tah is also strong and accomplished in the tackle.

Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet all season and, although Joel Matip looks a decent prospect, there are question marks over the other options at Anfield.

Klopp should do all he can to bring Tah to Merseyside in January.

Alexandre Lacazette

Although Liverpool are scoring goals for fun at present, Daniel Sturridge has been linked with a move away in January, so Klopp could really do with another option upfront should the Englishman decide to go.

The German should look no further than Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, who scored 23 goals in 44 appearances for the French side last season.

The 25-year-old has been in superb form in each of the last three seasons, having netted 76 times in that period, as well as ten goals in 11 games this time around.

He’s clearly a striker in form and enjoying his football, so Klopp should consider a move for the France international when the window reopens.
