These 2 signings would win Manchester United the Premier League title

Jose Mourinho’s first three months at Manchester United haven’t been as good as many expected.

His United side have won just five of their opening 11 league games and already sit eight points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

Defeats against title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea have thrown United’s title credentials into doubt, and their contest with Arsenal on Saturday will once again demonstrate how close Mourinho’s men are to the top sides.

Their victory over Swansea prior to the international break was just their second win in eight league matches, but it might help bring back some confidence in a United side that have lacked energy and spark in the opening months.

Mourinho’s side are also struggling in the Europa League, and need two wins from their last two group matches to guarantee qualification for the last 32.

Nonetheless, despite their indifferent start, many are still expecting United to be there or thereabouts come May, but more signings may be needed in January to keep them competitive.

Thus, here are TWO players that would help win the title for United this season…

Mesut Ozil

There have been murmurings in the recent weeks that Manchester United could launch a stunning move to bring Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil to Old Trafford.

The Gunners playmaker has yet to agree a new deal at the Emirates and, with his contract up at the end of next season, clubs around Europe will likely be keeping an eye on the developing situation.

Ozil’s excellent relationship with Mourinho, having worked together at Real Madrid, could sway the German’s decision if he does indeed want to leave Arsenal, and he’d provide United with exactly what they haven’t had so far this season.

The 28-year-old has scored seven goals in 14 games for Arsenal this season and, combined with last season’s Premier League high tally of 19 assists, Ozil is playing his best football since arriving in England back in 2013.

United have lacked a creative spark so far this season – Ozil would provide that, and would certainly put United back into title contention.

Antoine Griezmann

A potential transfer that has been rumbling on for some time, Antoine Griezmann’s future at Atletico Madrid is far from certain.

The French international, who was superb for his country at the European Championships in the summer, parted with his agent in September and, with manager Diego Simeone set to leave the club within the next few years, Griezmann may look for a move elsewhere.

The 25-year-old scored 32 goals for the Spanish side last season, and has already netted eight times so far this time around.

His seemingly brilliant friendship with United midfielder Paul Pogba could persuade Griezmann to make a move to Old Trafford and, although he wouldn’t come cheap, he’s a player Mourinho and co should break the bank for if they want to be challenging for the title come May.
