These 2 West Ham stars must leave in January for their own good

West Ham ended a turbulent week with one of their best performances of the season to dispatch Crystal Palace 3-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic confirmed in the week that star man Dimitri Payet had refused to play for the club, but any potential repercussions from that were not evident on Saturday, as the hosts produced a fine display to beat former boss Sam Allardyce and his Palace side.

Goals from Sofiane Feghouli and Manuel Lanzini, as well as a stunning strike from Andy Carroll, secured the three points for the Hammers, and moved them up to 12th in the Premier League table.

Bilic’s men are now nine points clear of the bottom three after their seventh league victory of the campaign, and they’ll go into their trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday confident of recording a fifth win in seven Premier League matches.

However, West Ham have struggled to replicate last season’s form in this campaign, and Bilic may be eyeing up new signings in January in a bid to climb the Premier League table.

Yet, that could mean that some players need to leave the club to make room for new additions, so here are TWO West Ham players that need to move on this month for their own good…

Adrian

Goalkeeper Adrian has lost his place in between the sticks for West Ham this season after several costly mistakes at the start of the campaign.

The 30-year-old has been one of the better shot-stoppers in the Premier League over the last few seasons, but errors against West Brom and Stoke has seen Republic of Ireland international Darren Randolph replace the Spaniard as the club’s number one.

Thus, with Adrian’s contract up at the end of the season, the goalkeeper should consider moving away from the London Stadium this month.

Randolph may have made the odd error since replacing the 30-year-old, but the Irishman is a great shot-stopper and appears to be growing in confidence every game he plays, so it’s unlikely that Adrian will regain his place in the side.

Nonetheless, the Spaniard is a good goalkeeper and has proved that over the last couple of seasons, and will be a good signing for many clubs both in England and around Europe.

Reece Oxford

West Ham had serious defensive issues at the start of the season, but one man that was never called upon was young starlet Reece Oxford.

The 18-year-old played in the Hammers’ Europa League qualifiers back in August, yet hasn’t featured in a domestic game at all this season.

Despite making his debut against Arsenal in August 2015, and performing well against the Gunners, Oxford doesn’t appear to be anywhere near the first team picture, so would certainly benefit from a spell out on loan over the coming months.

He is widely regarded as a big prospect for West Ham, and recently signed a new long-term deal at the club, so surely it would be in his and the club’s best interests to get a bit of game time in the lower leagues to aid his development.
