Arsenal are in an excellent vein of form ahead of their Champions League match at home to Ludogorets on Wednesday.
The Gunners have won six games on the spin in the league, and are unbeaten in all competitions dating back to their 4-3 loss at home to Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
Wenger’s side have also started well in Europe by picking up a crucial point away at Paris Saint-Germain before comfortably beating FC Basel 2-0 three weeks ago.
They face the Bulgarian champions Ludogorets at The Emirates on Wednesday, who sit bottom of Group A with just one point from their two group games.
However, Arsenal just about did enough to see off Swansea City on Saturday, which may give Wenger slight cause for concern going into this match, and perhaps convince him to make a few changes to the starting eleven.
Here are THREE players who deserve a chance on Wednesday night…
Kieran Gibbs
The situation of left-back Kieran Gibbs at the Emirates is a strange one.
Although injuries did hinder his progress, the 27-year-old looked like he was going to be a regular for the club a few years ago, but he’s been restricted to just one start so far this season, and that was in the Gunners’ 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup last month.
Gibbs is likely considering his future in North London, but should be given an opportunity on Wednesday given that first-choice left-back Nacho Monreal struggled against Swansea City on Saturday.
Mohamed Elneny
Arsene Wenger described Mohamed Elneny as ‘top quality’ last month, yet he has only started one Premier League game this season, and that was back on the opening day against Liverpool.
With Granit Xhaka getting sent off at the weekend (albeit that doesn’t mean he is suspended on Wednesday), it must give Wenger slight cause for concern about his options in the midfield, and whether or not Elneny is ready to step up if more injuries and suspensions follow.
With Aaron Ramsey still on the treatment table, Elneny should get a chance to prove his worth to Wenger against Ludogorets on Wednesday.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has openly admitted that he may have to consider his Arsenal future if he doesn’t get regular first team football at the Emirates.
And based on his substitute cameo against Swansea at the weekend, he deserves a chance to start against Ludogorets.
He should have had a couple of assists had Theo Walcott been able to add to his two goals on Saturday, but it was his pace and energy that gave Arsenal a boost at a time when they were struggling following Xhaka’s red card.
He has shown what he can do in the past, for both club and country, and he showed enough at the weekend to warrant an opportunity on Wednesday.
