These 3 Bundesliga players could follow Leroy Sane to Manchester City in January

Pep Guardiola’s first season in English football in charge of Manchester City has got off to a decent start.

City currently sit top of the Premier League with 19 points from their first eight matches, although defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and a draw against Everton at the weekend has somewhat stunted City’s excellent start.

Guardiola’s men have also started reasonably well in Europe, although he would have been disappointed not to collect all three points from their visit to Celtic a few weeks ago.

One summer signing who hasn’t quite got going yet at the Etihad is Leroy Sane, who moved to Manchester for £37 million from German side Schalke.

The 20-year-old has started just twice so far this season, although did make the eleven for the visit of Everton last weekend.

Nevertheless, Sane’s move to the Premier League could entice many other Bundesliga stars to make the switch to England, so here are THREE that could follow the youngster to City in January…

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a man in-demand after an incredible few seasons at the German side.

The 27-year-old scored 36 goals in just 45 games for Dortmund last season, adding to the 23 he scored in the previous campaign.

Incredibly, Aubameyang has showed no signs of letting up in this campaign, netting eight times in his first 10 appearances, including the crucial equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin last week.

Last season’s Bundesliga Player of the Year is unsurprisingly a target for many top European clubs, but City’s financial strength could give them the edge if they move for him in January.

Ricardo Rodriguez

If City are lacking strength in one particular area, you’d have to say it’s at full-back.

With Bacary Sagna, Aleksandar Kolarov, Gael Clichy, and Pablo Zabaleta all the wrong side of 30, Guardiola may feel that he needs to find long-term replacements for the above four.

Switzerland international Ricardo Rodriguez, currently of Wolfsburg, would certainly provide him with one.

The 24-year-old is a constant threat down the left-hand side, but is equally as good defensively as he is going forward.

The Swiss has the potential to develop into a world-class full-back, and has unsurprisingly attracted interest from the Premier League for a while now. Thus, he could make a move, maybe to City, in January.

Mahmoud Dahoud

Guardiola appears to be a keen admirer of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.

The 20-year-old is very highly-rated in Germany, and has been tipped to go on and become one of the stars of the German midfield in years to come.

His breakthrough season came last time out, when he appeared 41 times for the German side to help them finish fourth and in turn qualify for the Champions League.

This year, he made his debut for the German Under-21 side, and he’s a player who is just going from strength to strength, and is sure to continue attracting interest from top European clubs.

Guardiola saw him first hand when his City side thumped Monchengladbach 4-0 last month, and may have to make a move for him in January in a bid to avoid missing out on the talented midfielder.
