Chelsea have made a solid if unspectacular start to the Premier League season under new manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian took over at Stamford Bridge in the summer, and oversaw three successive wins to start off the new league season.
However, disappointing defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal scuppered the Blues’ momentum, although they got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Hull City before the international break.
Conte’s men currently sit seventh in the Premier League table after the opening seven games, which is 11 places higher than Slaven Bilic’s West Ham, who have really struggled in the early stages of the new campaign.
The Hammers have won just once in the league this season, and there are a number of Chelsea players that would get into the West Ham side to drag them away from any possible relegation battle.
Here are THREE Chelsea players that would walk straight into the West Ham side…
Diego Costa
West Ham currently lack and out-and-out goal-scorer, and are heavily reliant on Payet to get the goals needed.
Zaza, on loan from Juventus, just hasn’t adapted to English football so far, and Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll remain in the sidelines.
Diego Costa, however, is an out-and-out goal-scorer and, on his day, is one of the best in the league.
He’s already scored six times in eight Chelsea games and, alongside the three he’s scored for Spain, he’s one of the most in-form forwards in Europe.
Tenacious, strong, and difficult to defend against, Costa would soon sort out West Ham’s scoring issues, and fire them up the league.
N’Golo Kante
West Ham have been very easy to beat at times this season, and their goals against tally of 17 is the highest in the division.
Teams have been able to get through their midfield area on too many occasions this season but, in N’Golo Kante, Chelsea have a player that would help stop such threats.
Although he is not a defender by trade, Kante’s steely determination and incredible ability to break up play and thwart opposition attacks would be invaluable to the Hammers at this present time.
Having Kante on the pitch, as he proved so brilliantly at champions Leicester City last season, is like having two players, such is the ground he covers and, although he didn’t have a great game against Arsenal a few weeks ago, he’s made a solid start to life at Stamford Bridge.
He’s a player West Ham would definitely benefit from in their current plight.
Eden Hazard
Although Eden Hazard had far from his best season for Chelsea last time out, his quality is undoubted, and it’s just a matter of time before he gets back to the sort of form that won him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year Award in 2015.
The Belgium international netted 14 times that season and created a number of others as Chelsea won the title, and it’s this creativity that, Dimitri Payet aside, West Ham just haven’t got at the moment.
Having Payet and Hazard in the team would cause defences no end of problems – they could switch from either flank to keep them guessing; and could play behind the front man as well.
They would be a handful for any defence in the league.
