Slaven Bilic’s West Ham have made a poor start to life at the London Stadium, winning just one of their opening four Premier League matches at their new ground.
The Hammers beat AFC Bournemouth 1-0 back in August, but have since then lost to Watford and Southampton, and needed yet another piece of Dimitri Payet magic to salvage a draw against Middlesbrough.
The four points they’ve picked up at the 2012 Olympic Stadium is four more than they’ve picked up away from home, with defeats at Chelsea, Manchester City, and West Bromwich Albion leaving Bilic’s side 18th in the table.
Third-bottom is 11 places below Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, who themselves have suffered disappointing defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Arsenal in the first few months of the season.
However, there may be a few West Ham players that would get into the Blues team at the moment, and here are THREE players that would do just that…
Dimitri Payet
Any team in the division would benefit from having Dimitri Payet in their team, and that applies to Chelsea as well.
The French international inspired the Hammers to a seventh place finish last season with nine goals and countless more assists, and then continued that rich vein of form into the European Championships, netting three more times to help France reach the final.
Although Conte has a number of options going forward, Payet would warrant a starting place at Stamford Bridge such is the way he has maintained his great form throughout his time in English football.
Aaron Cresswell
Conte is beginning to stamp his authority on the Chelsea team, and played three at the back in their win at Hull prior to the international break.
As a result, he will want wing-backs in his squad, and West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell would provide him with one.
Although mainly used as a full-back, the 26-year-old played wing-back for West Ham a few times last season, particularly to great effect in their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur back in March.
He may not be a natural in that position, but he has all the qualities to fulfil the role of wing-back and, under Conte, those could be fulfilled.
Andre Ayew
The Blues were linked with Ayew prior to his £12 million move to West Ham in the summer, so clearly Conte felt that he could do a job for the team upfront.
He’s not as good as Diego Costa, but he scored 12 goals in 34 Premier League games for Swansea City last time out, so clearly knows how to play as a forward in England.
