These are the 2 most ridiculous Liverpool January rumours

Liverpool are well-placed to end their 26-year wait for the Premier League title by going all the way this season.

Jurgen Klopp, embarking on his first full season in charge, has led the Reds to nine wins from their opening 14 league games, with just two defeats thus far this season.

However, one of those came in their last outing, as Klopp’s men threw away a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 at Bournemouth on Sunday.

Nonetheless, Liverpool have shown enough in the first three months that they are capable of challenging this season, with victories over Arsenal and Chelsea outlining their title credentials.

Klopp’s men are third in the Premier League, four points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and they will host a struggling West Ham side on Sunday in a bid to keep the pressure on Antonio Conte’s men.

However, many feel that the Reds, who have also made it to the semi-finals of the League Cup, will come up short this season unless Klopp brings in reinforcements in January.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool have been linked it several players, and some players have been linked with moves away, and here are TWO rumours that are seriously unlikely to come true…

Nathaniel Clyne to Barcelona

This was a rumour that surprised many when it became apparent at the end of October.

Barcelona are on the look-out for a right-back following Dani Alves’ departure in the summer, and they were linked with a stunning move for Nathaniel Clyne.

The England international has enjoyed a rapid rise in recent years, and earned himself a big money move to Anfield last year having performed brilliantly for Southampton.

However, it’s highly unlikely that Liverpool would sell the 25-year-old given his importance to the Reds’ backline, and reports in Spain suggest that they want a ‘low-cost’ right-back, which Clyne certainly isn’t.

Jurgen Klopp to Bayern Munich

Now this is one that is so unlikely to happen it’s almost laughable.

The Sunday Mirror have reported that Klopp could be lined up by Bayern Munich as a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti – this all came after the German champions lost to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and then little-known Rostov in the Champions League at the end of November.

Not only are Bayern unlikely to sack Ancelotti given his track-record elsewhere, and the fact that they are only three points adrift in the Bundesliga, but it’s difficult to see Klopp leaving Anfield anytime soon.

The Liverpool boss is embarking on his first full season on Merseyside and, given that he led the club to two Cup finals last season and that fact that they are third in the table this time around, he clearly feels that he can build something at Anfield, and perhaps be the man to end their 26-year wait for the Premier League title.

Moving to Bayern is probably not high up on his to-do list at the moment.
