The wait is almost over!

It’s now under a week before Football Manager 2017 is released in the UK, and there will be fans up and down the country eagerly awaiting the latest issue of one of the greatest football games in the world.

With numerous new and exciting features, FM17 is sure to be one of the best, and many fans will already be planning how they can take their side to glory.

If it means that you need to break your club’s transfer record to get that player you desperately want, or perhaps moving on some of your most talented individuals, fans will know what’s best for their club, and will do whatever it takes for them to be successful.

However, there will be some that want to test their managerial credentials by embarking on a series of challenges in relation to their side to prove that they are a top-quality boss.

For Chelsea fans, many will feel that last season’s Premier League title was just a mere blip, and that Antonio Conte has a squad capable of bringing success back to Stamford Bridge.

Some, however, will think that they can take Chelsea to the next level, so here are THREE challenges Blues fans should take up on the new game…

Win the Treble

Manchester United are currently the only English side to have won the treble, accomplishing the feat in 1999 by winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League.

Chelsea have come the closest in recent times to matching that – they won the double under Carlo Ancelotti in 2010, and are the only English side other than United to have won the Champions League in the last ten years.

However, it’s about time you combined all of those above achievements into the same season, and completed that elusive ‘Treble’.

You’ve got a bit of time to compile a squad and a system needed to compete on three separate fronts, but you need to have won the ‘Treble’ within three seasons in charge.

How many loan players?

Chelsea currently have 38 players out on loan and, looking at the names spending a temporary time away from Stamford Bridge, there is some real potential lurking about.

Arguably, there is a title-winning squad there.

So, at the start of the season, you are going to remove all the current first team players over the age of 23, so you can retain the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and not loan out any players under the age of 25 so you can build a squad capable of winning domestic honours.

It may take time to build a side that can challenge but, within four years, you need to have won the title, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.

Conquer Europe

In the last ten years, Chelsea have won the UEFA Champions League, finished runners-up to Manchester United, and failed at the semi-final stage three times.

Under you, that record will be drastically improved.

Having qualified for the competition in your first season, you will then have ten years to conquer Europe, and become the most successful English team in the history of the competition.

Liverpool have won five European Cups; Chelsea have won one – you do the maths.
