The wait is almost over!

Football Manager 2017 will be released in the UK on Friday, November 4, and the latest edition of the game is exciting fans up and down the country.

With many new features on this version, FM17 promises to be the best yet, and some supporters are already thinking about how they can take their side to glory on the game.

If it means selling your prized asset to raise funds for a 20-goal-a-season striker, or breaking the bank to bring in that talented playmaker, the fans will believe that they know what the right course of action is for their team.

However, some fans may look at the new game as an opportunity to improve their credentials as a Football Manager expert, and could embark on several challenges to prove they are a top-notch boss.

And, for Leeds fans who have gone 12 years without Premier League football, these challenges may interest you greatly.

So, here are THREE challenges Leeds fans should attempt on FM17…

Promotion in first season

Like any side in the Championship, the ultimate aim is to get to the Premier League.

For Leeds United, it’s been 12 years since they graced the top-flight and, although there have been struggles along the way, they are now in a position where getting promoted is a realistic aim.

And it’s a job you are going to undertake.

Quite simply (except it isn’t because the Championship is a very difficult league), you have to win promotion in your first season at Elland Road.

British challenge

Leeds currently have 17 British and Irish players in their first team squad, and a further four out on loan across various European divisions.

Add in a whole host of Brits in the development squad, and Leeds could be looking at a British and Irish squad capable of promotion.

So, your challenge is to achieve exactly that.

By signing none other than British and Irish players, and removing all the non-Brits in the Leeds squad, you must win promotion within three seasons at Elland Road.

A lot of the youngsters will need time to adapt to the Championship, but remember that, generally, the Championship gets harder every year, so time is of the essence in this challenge.

Best team in Yorkshire

This would be a long-term project to get Leeds back to being the best club in Yorkshire.

With Hull and Middlesbrough currently in the Premier League (albeit how long for remains to be seen), there is a bit of work to do to get the Whites on top of the tree once more.

However, if you’re the manager you say you are, then this is a challenge you’ll breeze through.

In six years, you have got to leave the rest of Yorkshire behind you, and the only way of doing this is establishing Leeds as a Premier League club.

In every season, you have to finish above the other Yorkshire sides in the same division and, if you meet any of them in the cup, you have to beat them.

All of this would see Leeds regain the crown of best team in Yorkshire.
