The wait is almost over!

Football fans around the country will be eagerly anticipating the release of Football Manager 2017, which will hit our shelves on Friday November 4.

It has over the years been one of the best football games out there, and this year’s edition promises to be the best yet.

With a number of new and exciting features, fans up and down the country will already be considering how best to take their team to the next level.

Whether it’s by breaking your club’s record transfer fee or by throwing the youngsters into the first team, the supporters will feel that they have the best idea on how to take their side forward.

However, some may feel that they want to test themselves on the new game, and could embark on a few challenges to prove their credentials as a Football Manager expert.

And, for Rangers fans who have had a turbulent few years, they will likely relish the chance to manage their side in the Scottish Premiership once again.

Thus, here are THREE challenges Rangers fans could look to attempt on the new game…

Scottish Premiership title

First thing’s first, Rangers need to regain the Scottish Premiership title from Old Firm rivals Celtic.

The Gers’ demotion down the Scottish Football League pyramid means that, for the last four seasons, Celtic have been able to waltz to the title, unchallenged by anyone. Prior to Rangers’ demise, the Gers had won three of the previous four SPL titles.

However, Mark Warburton’s side are back in the top-flight and, although they got hammered by their rivals 5-1 at the start of the season, they could provide a stern test to Celtic as the season progresses.

For you though, you will get one over your rivals and win the title in your first season at Ibrox.

Re-establish Old Firm dominance

It’s not just in terms of the league table where you need to better your rivals though, you need to do it in every game as well.

Rangers have won just one of the last four Old Firm derbies, that was on penalties in the Scottish Cup last season, and lost the other three quite comfortably.

Under your stewardship though, there will be no defeats to Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic.

You must win every Old Firm match for three years to re-establish the Gers as the biggest side in Scotland. In doing so, you will likely win many domestic honours at the expense of your rivals, just to add a bit of gloss to your achievement.

Champions League success

It’s been four long seasons since Rangers had a chance in the Champions League, and now that goal of returning to Europe’s elite competition is not too far away.

Under your reign, you are going to make it a reality.

Only winning the league gives you a chance of Champions League football in Scotland, so keeping ahead of Celtic is integral to your chances in this challenge.

You have got six years from when you take over to go from newly-promoted Rangers to Champions League winners – can you do it?
