Football Manager 2017 is just under a week away!

The latest issue of one of the greatest football games in the world is due on our shelves on Friday, November 4.

And, unsurprisingly, many fans up and down the country are already talking about the game, which includes new and exciting features, and how best to take their team to glory.

For many supporters, this could mean breaking their club’s transfer record to get that all-important striker or signing many talented individuals, but for some where money is an issue, they may need to focus on developing young players ready for the first team.

However, many supporters will look at the new game as a chance to prove themselves as a top-quality manager, and will look to complete a few difficult challenges in a bid to prove their credentials on the new game.

And, for Tottenham fans who have seen their side improve drastically over the past few seasons, these challenges could be for you.

Here are THREE challenges Spurs fans should look to try on FM17…

Usurp Arsenal

Tottenham have been in Arsenal’s shadow for many a year now, and couldn’t even hold off their rivals to finish second in the Premier League last season.

However, you are going to usurp the Gunners and establish Spurs as the powerhouse of North London.

Arsenal have won three Premier League titles and 12 FA Cups, to Spurs’ zero and eight.

Yet, in eight years, you will have won at least four league titles and five FA Cups, thus bettering your bitter rivals.

However, given that Spurs need to win some silverware sooner rather than later (it’s been eight years), you need to do the double in your first season.

The Dele Alli challenge

Tottenham signed Dele Alli from MK Dons back in the January transfer window of 2015, and he has flourished in the Premier League.

A first team regular and capped repeatedly by his country, the 20-year-old is proof that there is lots of talent in the lower leagues – they just need a chance to shine.

That process of buying young, talented individuals from the lower leagues will be the basis of this challenge.

By removing all the players over the age of 23 in the current Spurs squad, and buying only from the lower leagues in English football, you must build a team capable of winning the Premier League title.

If you’re half the manager you claim to be, you’ll be able to power Spurs to the summit within four years.

European glory

Tottenham are back in the Champions League this season for the first time since 2011, but just qualifying for the competition should not be seen as an achievement.

As manager, you will take Spurs to the next level: winning the Champions League.

The first team is excellent and the squad is pretty strong, so you will win Europe’s elite competition within three years at White Hart Lane.

In doing so, you will do something your North London rivals have never managed to do, which would be another feather in your cap!
