Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday have joined Fulham in the race for Ross McCormack.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the three Championship sides have expressed an interest in the striker who has fallen foul of Steve Bruce.

The Villa boss has to decide whether he will let the Scotland internationalist out on loan to a play-off rival or leave him to rot at Villa Park.

Much will depend on whether or not Villa are successful in bringing in a new striker with Sheffield Wednesday battling it out with them for the signing of Jordan Rhodes from Middlesbrough.

Bruce has been a long term admirer of Rhodes but has had little joy in his negotiations to bring the striker to Villa Park with ‘Boro adamant that only an offer of £12m will be considered for the former Blackburn striker.

McCormack trained with the Villa u-23 squad on Monday after Bruce revealed that he hadn’t been at training due to a blocked gate at his home.
