Three forwards to consider for FPL Gameweek 5 including Newcastle and Leicester stars

With four gameweeks of the Fantasy Premier League season out the way, it’s now vital that your team kicks on and starts climbing the rankings.

Forwards are vital members of every manager’s playing squads, as goals and assists are a major part of the FPL scoring system.

Of course, there are the big names that are almost guaranteed regular points, Mo Salah’s, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang’s etc, but who are the players under the radar worth picking.

Looking ahead to this next round of fixtures, many of the big teams are facing off against each other, which leaves space for a couple of picks from clubs outside of the ‘big six’.

Here’s who we feel you should consider putting in your team if you already haven’t…

Patrick Bamford (Leeds United) – £5.8m

Zaha has started this season on fire for Palace, scoring and assisting goals both home and away from Selhurst Park. The Eagles face-up against rivals Brighton & Hove Albion in gameweek 5 and the tricky winger often performs well against the Seagulls. With 27 points already this term, the Nigeria international could be the man to pick this week. Don’t forget he seems to be on penalties soon. VAR could be your friend this weekend!

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) – £10.1m

Not the cheapest option, but now might just be the time to get high-flying Jamie Vardy in your team as the England international is in top form. Not only is the pacy forward on all Leicester penalties, he’s Brendan Rodgers go-to man as the Foxes play free-flowing attacking football. This is a team who put five goals past the imperious Manchester City and with Aston Villa at home this weekend, we think Vardy could be worth the price tag.

Callum Wilson (Newcastle United) – £5.4m

People who have success in Fantasy football, are the managers who take risks on relatively unpopular players who chip in with the points. Thats why we think Ashley Westwood might be a good shout for gameweek 5. Burnley are up against, Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion and the midfielder has already chipped in with 12 points this season. He is often over free kicks and certainly gets the North West side ticking with his passing range.
