Three goalkeepers to consider for FPL Gameweek 7 including Tottenham and Burnley stars

Three goalkeepers to consider for FPL Gameweek 7 including Tottenham and Burnley stars.

With six game weeks of the Fantasy season out the way, it’s now vital that your team kicks on and starts climbing the rankings.

Often overlooked by goal-hungry managers is the goalkeeper position, but these shot-stoppers can earn your team valuable points with clean sheets and saves.

Looking ahead to this round of fixtures, there’s some interesting games which are hard to call, meaning their could be great rewards for manager’s who make the right call ahead of this weekend.

Here’s three goalkeeper picks we recommend…

Hugo Lloris (Tottenham) – £5.5m

It seems strange to think now, but Lloris used to come under a lot of criticism at Spurs for making too many mistakes and not being commanding enough. That period seems a world away now, with the France international and World Cup winner putting in top performances week in week out. With Spurs hosting Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend, we feel Lloris is a smart pick with a clean sheet likely to be on the cards.

Nick Pope (Burnley) – £5.5m

Call us mad, call us crazy but we believe Nick Pope is worth a risk this coming weekend. In FPL, the best way to accumulate points over your rivals is picking players that aren’t in all the squads of your competitors, and that’s what you’ll get with Nick Pope. Yes, the England international is up against the no-expense-spared attack of Chelsea, but the Blues travelled over 4,000 miles to play in Europe this week and have not been at their scintillating best in the Premier League. We believe Sean Dyche will look to keep things tight and Pope could be the surprise package this weekend.

Alex McCarthy (Southampton) – £4.5m

When it comes to price, there is not many better placed in the FPL market than the Southampton stopper. McCarthy has been in top form this season, helping the Saints to a very respectable 7th position in the Premier League, They face a tough trip to Villa Park this weekend, but has Villa’s early season bubble burst? This could be the time to land an affordable keeper who seems to pick up good points most weeks.
