Three midfielders to consider for FPL Gameweek 6 including Aston Villa and Brighton danger men.

With five game weeks of the Fantasy season out the way, it’s now vital that your team kicks on and starts climbing the rankings.

Often overlooked by goal-hungry managers is the defender positions, but these goal-stoppers can earn your team valuable points with clean sheets and with the opportunity to produce a goal or an assist.

Looking ahead to this round of fixtures, there’s some interesting games which are hard to call, meaning their could be great rewards for manager’s who make the right call ahead of this weekend.

Here’s three defender picks we recommend…

Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur) – £9.5m

Surely now is the time to take the risk and put the brilliant Gareth Bale in your Fantasy team. Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is clearly a big fan of the Wales superstar and given the North London outfit are up against Burnley, he may see this as the perfect opportunity to give Bale his first Premier League start since joining the club. With Harry Kane scoring and providing goals, most managers will be confident Bale can pick up big points.

Ross Barkley (Aston Villa) – £6.0m

What a start Barkley has made to life at Villa on loan. The Chelsea player has fitted in to Dean Smith’s system perfectly and has hit the ground running at Villa Park. Goals in the 7-2 thumping over Premier League champions Liverpool, as well as the winner the other night against Leicester City has made the England international a must-pick tonight, as Villa host Leeds United in the Premier League.

Leandro Trossard (Brighton & Hove Albion) – £6.0m

Again, just like Barkley we are not suggesting the cheapest midfielder available, but Trossard is a good middle price and seems to make the Seagulls tick. Against Manchester United a few weeks back, he was unlucky not to score a hat-trick and certainly looks a player with the potential of scoring regular goals for Brighton this season. Also, in Gameweek 6 the South Coast outfit face up against West Bromwich Albion and will be expecting to get amongst the goals in that game.
