Three players Chelsea could sign in the summer transfer window

Lampard is happy with Ross Barkley.

Chelsea fans will be relatively pleased with how their first season under Frank Lampard is going to date.

The Blues sit fourth in the Premier League and have advanced in both the FA Cup and Champions League.

Off the field, their FIFA transfer ban was overturned in December and they have since agreed to sign Ajax star Hakim Ziyech in the summer.

Despite the Morocco international arriving ahead of next season, Lampard will also be looking at bolstering other areas of his squad.

But who else could Chelsea possibly make a move for? We take a look at three players the Stamford Bridge side have been linked with in the last seven days…

Jadon Sancho

France Football report that Chelsea are looking to steal a march on other clubs by opening talks with Jadon Sancho’s representatives.

The 19-year-old England international has shone ever since moving to Germany from Manchester City in 2016 and has 13 goals and 13 assists in the Bundesliga this term.

This form has seen him linked with a move back to the Premier League and it’s claimed Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are also interested.

However, it’s thought that the Blues have made a concrete move by taking the first steps in a transfer deal which could cost in excess of Dortmund’s £100million valuation.

Matias Vecino

The Express claim that Chelsea are set to pay £23million to land Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino this summer.

At 28, the Uruguay international has good experience and has made 17 Serie A appearances under Antonio Conte this term.

Now it’s claimed the Blues will put forward the money needed to sign the former Fiorentina player ahead of Everton.

Vecino moved to the San Siro in 2017 and has since played 92 matches for Nerazzurri in all competitions.

Lucas Digne

90min that Chelsea are weighing up a possible summer swoop for Everton left-back Lucas Digne.

The Frenchman joined the Toffees from Barcelona in 2018 and won the club’s Player of the Season in his first year at the club.

But Carlo Ancelotti could face a battle to keep hold of the 26-year-old, with Chelsea and Manchester City claimed both to be keen.

However, having paid around £18million for his signature, it’s thought that the Goodison Park outfit would demand more than double that price for the ex-Paris Saint-Germain player.
