Three players Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could sign in January

Despite their good form, United have a long way to go to bridge the gap to Jurgen Klopp's side.

Liverpool are currently in Doha having qualified for the World Club Cup final after a late semi-final winner against Monterrey on Wednesday.

Also this week, the Reds announced the signing of Japan international winger Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg.

The 24-year-old, who had a release clause of £7.25million, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Anfield.

But with the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup still all to play for, Jurgen Klopp may continue to look to add to his squad.

But who else could the German boss move for? We take a look at three players Liverpool have been linked with over the last week…

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz is a talented young player who has already racked up over 120 club matches for Bayer Leverkusen.

The playmaker, who has also won seven caps for Germany, impressively netted 20 times in the 2018/19 season.

Now Bild (via the Metro) are reporting that his form in the Bundesliga has attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

It’s claimed that the Anfield club have held concrete talks with the 20-year-old’s midfielder but that Leverkusen would want around £111million for their star.

Sam McCallum

One area of Liverpool’s squad that could do with bolstering is at left-back where Andrew Robertson is the only natural option.

And 90min report that the Reds have their eye on a player lower down the English football pyramid as a possible back-up and even long-term successor.

Sam McCallum has has played 27 times for Coventry City since being plucked from non-league Herne Bay in 2018.

He’s caught the eye for the League One club and it’s claimed that the Anfield club are set to beat a number of sides to the 19-year-old’s signature.

Antonio Zarzana

Another teenager Liverpool reportedly have their eye on is Sevilla midfielder Antonio Zarzana.

The 17-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut but has played for the club’s reserves and for Spain at Under-17 level.

Estadio Deportivo. claim that Zarzana turned fown a move to Real Madrid last year and is now attracting interest from the Reds.

However, it also states that Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also keen admirers and could make a move.
