Three players Liverpool could sign in the January transfer window

It’s been a great week for Liverpool as they continue to sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League with two further victories.

After beating Merseyside rivals Everton 5-2 in midweek, the Reds backed that up with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Bournemouth over the weekend.

The six points keeps them eight clear of Leicester City and now a whopping 14 ahead of champions Manchester City, who were beaten in the Manchester derby.

Despite having a strong squad, Liverpool have still been linked with a January swoop for various players.

But who could the Anfield side move for? We take a look at three players Liverpool have been linked with over the last week…

Gabriel Barbosa

Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa hit the headlines last month when his two late goals sealed Flamengo the Copa Libertadores title.

That brace just sealed a prolific season in which the 23-year-old netted 43 club goals in all competitions.

Barbosa’s red-hot form has seen him linked with a move to Europe and, in a recent interview with The Sun, expressed his admiration for Liverpool and international teammate Roberto Firmino.

It’s claimed he was a target of the Reds in 2017 but it remains to be seen if they’re still interested in signing the player who’s still contracted to Inter Milan, who he has played just 10 times for since signing in 2016.

Ricky Jade-Jones

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has given Jade-Jones first-team opportunities this season.

Having signed Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg in the summer, it’s clear Liverpool are very focussed on developing future stars as well as improving the current first-team.

Now the Mail Online have reported that the Reds are keen on recruiting another exciting teenager in Peterborough forward Ricky Jade-Jones.

The 17-year-old has played four times for Posh’s first-team and scored on his full debut against Cambridge United in the FA Cup.

However, it’s claimed that the Anfield club would face competition from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to the £2million-rated attacker.

Karim Adeyemi

Another youngster Liverpool seem to have an eye on is RB Salzburg starlet Karim Adeyemi.

The 17-year-old striker has hit the back of the net eight times in 13 appearances while on loan at Austrian Bundesliga 2 side Liefering this term.

As well as that, he has also scored three times for parent club RB Salzburg in the UEFA Youth League, catching the eye of scouts from some major European clubs.

The Mirror have reported that Liverpool seem to be in the running, but that both Arsenal and Barcelona are also keen on the German.
