Liverpool are looking like champions-elect already in the Premier League as they sit eight points clear of Leicester City at the top.

Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t been overly impressive but are grinding out wins and have picked up 40 points from a possible 42 this term.

Saturday’s tense 2-1 win over Brighton saw the Reds match a club-record 31 unbeaten top-flight matches, previously achieved in 1988.

With a lot of matches to contest between now and January you can’t write off Klopp wanting to dip into the transfer market to give his side an extra boost in order to compete on various fronts.

But who could the German boss move for? We take a look at three players Liverpool have been linked with over the last week…

Ugurcan Cakir

Despite Adrian covering first-choice goalkeeper Alisson well this term, Liverpool have still been linked with a new stopper.

That man, according to Star, is Turkish talent Ugurcan Cakir who, at 23 years of age, is attracting interest with his performances at Trabzonspor.

It’s claimed that scouts of the Premier League leaders have been to scout the player who won his first senior international cap back in May.

However, Jurgen Klopp may have to make a concrete swoop for Cakir as it’s thought that Italian giants Juventus are also monitoring the player.

Jadon Sancho

One that will catch the eye of Kopites more than a potential new back-up goalkeeper is the possible swoop for one of the brightest talents in English football.

Jadon Sancho has been a headline maker since making the move from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

However, it’s been reported that the England international is looking to return to his homeland in the near future having been linked with a number of major Premier League clubs.

And now, according to respected journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft, it’s Liverpool who lead Manchester United in the race to sign the 19-year-old.

Sander Berge

A player Klopp has seen up close in action is highly-rated Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge.

The 21-year-old played in both Champions League group matches for his club Genk against Liverpool earlier this term.

And it’s claimed that the German boss was impressed with what he saw with VG reporting he would like Berge to come in and fill the space left due to Fabinho’s injury.

Standing at a towering 6ft 5in, the Asker-born star has already played 149 senior club matches and has won 20 caps for his country.
