Three players Liverpool could sign in the summer transfer window

Despite their first Premier League defeat of the season at Watford, Liverpool are still flying high at the top of the table, on course to win their first top-flight title since 1990. 

But despite their dominance, boss Jurgen Klopp club will know how important it is to keep on improving his squad season after season.

But who could Liverpool possibly add to what is already an extraordinary, well balanced squad this summer?

We take a look at three players the Anfield club have been linked with in the last seven days…

Thomas Partey

According to Cadena Ser, Liverpool are keen on Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The 26-year-old has been a key player for Diego Simeone’s side over the past few seasons and has made 33 appearances in all competitions this term.

One of those came in Atleti’s 1-0 Champions League last-16 first-leg win over Liverpool last month.

And it’s claimed that the Anfield club are interested in signing the Ghana international, who a release clause of £44million in his contract.

Mathieu Goncalves

According to L’Equipe, Liverpool are tracking Toulouse left-back Mathieu Goncalves.

The French side look set to be relegated from Ligue 1 as they currently sit 14 points adrift of safety with 11 matches left.

However, despite the club’s poor position, Goncalves’s all-action displays have reportedly caught the attention of the Premier League leaders.

Rated at £8.5million, the 18-year-old could prove the perfect back-up for Andrew Robertson.

Jonathan David

The Express reports that Liverpool are in the race to sign Gent striker Jonathan David.

At just 20 years of age, the Canada international has scored 23 goals for the Belgian side this term.

And it’s claimed that his prolific form in front of goal has caught the attention of Liverpool.

However, it’s also claimed that Chelsea, Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have all made checks on the goal-getter.
