Three players Manchester City could sign in the January transfer window

Manchester City are 14 points behind runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool with just 17 matches played.

That leaves the reigning champions with an uphill task if they are to become the first club in over a decade to win the title three years in a row.

So with January around the corner, Pep Guardiola might be looking to add to his squad in order to give them a boost during the second half of the campaign.

But who could the Etihad side make a move for? We take a look at three players the Citizens have been linked with over the last seven days…

Ibrahim Said

Pep’s City has been linked with Said.

Young striker Ibrahim Said is, according to TEAMtalk, attracting interest from Manchester City.

Said scored a hat-trick for Nigeria against Ecuador at the Under-17 World Cup in the summer and currently plays for Dabo Babes Academy.

However, it’s claimed City will face competition from FC Porto, Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Nathan Ake

Netherlands international Nathan Ake has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League since moving to Bournemouth – initially on loan – in 2016.

As well as a return to Chelsea, The Sun have linked the 24-year-old with a £40million move to Man City in the new year.

The champions have struggled at the back following the summer exit of Vincent Kompany and injury to Aymeric Laporte so a swoop for Ake would make sense.

Jadon Sancho

Despite selling Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund in 2016, The Sun claim that Man City are in the hunt to re-sign the 19-year-old.

Since leaving the Premier League club, the forward has starred in the Bundesliga and become a regular in the England squad.

But it’s claimed that the teenager’s form also has rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool on high alert.
