Three players Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could sign in January

Solskjaer has been praised for his work in the transfer market so far.

It’s fair to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had a testing first full campaign in charge of Manchester United to date.

Despite beating Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs, dropped points against sides in the bottom half of the table mean the Norwegian’s side sit eighth, seven points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea.

In the cup competitions, the Red Devils are in the last-32 of the Europa League, plus an FA Cup third round tie at Wolves and two-legged League Cup semi-final against rivals Manchester City to come.

So with United still heavily involved in a number of competitions, there’s plenty of reports around that Ole will aim to add to his squad in the new year.

But who could the Old Trafford club move for? We take a look at three players Manchester United have been linked with over the last seven days…

Jean-Clair Todibo

Despite spending around £130million on two defenders in the summer, Sport claim that United are keen on signing Barcelona centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 19-year-old only moved to the Camp Nou from Toulouse in July but has made just three first-team appearances to date.

It’s claimed that the Catalan club are open to selling the France Under-20 international but only if they have the option to sign him back within the next two seasons.

Despite a lack of playing time, it’s thought that Barca would want around £17million for the player who’s also been linked with interesting AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, Southampton and Everton.

Jude Bellingham

Another teenager to be linked with a switch to Old Trafford is Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham.

The 16-year-old has been making headlines this season, becoming the Blues’ youngest-ever player and goalscorer.

Reports in the Telegraph claim that United assistant Mike Phelan went to watch the England youth international in action recently.

However, it’s claimed that the Red Devils are not alone in their pursuit with a number of other Premier League and Bundesliga clubs admirers of the midfielder.

Alessandro Florenzi

Reports in Italy’s Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) say United are weighing up a move for AS Roma defender Alessandro Florenzi.

The 28-year-old’s future in the capital seems uncertain having started just two of the last eight Serie A matches.

And it’s claimed that the full-back’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is said to ‘be receiving various proposals’ and will discuss his client’s situation in the new year.

Florenzi, who is also thought to be interesting Everton, Fiorentina and Sampdoria, has 35 caps for Italy.
