Three players Manchester United could sign in the January transfer window

Solskjaer's Manchester United are struggling for goals.

Manchester United and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a morale boosting win in midweek when they defeated Tottenham and former boss Jose Mourinho 2-1 at Old Trafford.

The result was just a fifth Premier League win of the season for the Red Devils which took them to within eight points of a top-four spot.

Despite the victory over Spurs, fans and Solskjaer will know that additions still need to be made to the squad.

So with January looming, both will hope to see bodies recruited in order to have the best possible chance in the second half of the campaign.

But who could the Old Trafford side move for? We take a look at three players the Red Devils have been linked with over the last seven days…

Emre Can

Although maybe not a rumour that will initially go down well with fans due to his connections to Liverpool, there’s no doubting Emre Can would bolster Manchester United’s midfield.

The German’s move from Anfield to Juventus in 2018 has turned into a bit of a disaster with the player even being left out of the Turin club’s Champions League squad for the group stage.

His lack of game time with Juve has seen him linked with a move to Old Trafford, Bayern Munich and Paris-Saint-Germain.

And in a recent feature with Gazzetta dello Sport, Can says prospect of joining either of those clubs is one that ‘flatters’ him.

Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid forked out £39million for teenage sensation Vinicius Junior in the summer of 2018.

However, he’s not quite lived up to his billing since moving to Spain and is already being linked with a transfer away.

The latest reports by El Desmarque state that Real want to offer the 19-year-old to Manchester United as part of a deal to try and sign Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s future at Old Trafford has been uncertain for months and it’s claimed fellow countryman Zinedine Zidane would love to take him to the Bernabeu.

Christian Eriksen

It’s no secret that the Danish superstar is unsettled at Spurs as he runs down the final year of his contract.

Eriksen has not performed at the level he has done in previous seasons and has been in and out of the side this term under both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.

Linked with Manchester United in the summer, the Evening Standard now claim that the Red Devils could sign 27-year-old for less than £40million in January as Spurs don’t want to lose him on a free.

With 217 Premier League appearances under his belt, the former Ajax man would add both quality and experience.
